I reloaded both: Visual Studio Beta 11 (first) and MRDS 4 (second).  The setup.cmd runs now without Visual Studio complaining.

However, when I enter dsshost -p:50000 -t:50001

I only get the following lines and localhost:50000  does not produce a html menu screen for MRS

*   Service started [04/25/2012 09:42:48][http://127.0.0.1:50000/constructor]

Some correct advice would prove helpful.  (solved it - see next post)

The sim graphics are great and the welcome audio comes thru loud and clear(ly fascist).

Was prompted for a user-id/password and when I finally understood the context of being the local machine and entered the correct user-id which I don't manually type in anywhere else   THEN   the Microsoft Robotics Home screen showed up.   I was getting so frustrated that the term abandon-ware kept creeping into my vocabulary.  :)  I am sorry for having those awful thoughts about this wonderful software and will refrain from further mischief of that sort.

If you had run DssHost from the Start Menu then you would have seen a browser window. Just running DssHost by itself does not launch the browser (as you have discovered).

Unfortunately there is a lot to learn and you will need to do a fair bit of reading and experimenting.
