question: do the promrds samples work with visual studio 2010?

Dec 14, 2010 at 5:16 PM

I try to run the ExplorerSim.sln but i get this error:

Error 1 The type or namespace name 'Robotics' does not exist in the namespace 'Microsoft' (are you missing an assembly reference?) C:\Users\cam\Microsoft Robotics Dev Studio 2008 R3\ProMRDS\Chapter9\ExplorerSim\ExplorerSimTypes.cs 18 26 ExplorerSim

I have visual studio 2010 which did some auto conversion of the sample code

Any help would be appreciated

I have VS2010 on Win7 and I've just downloaded the ProMRDS zip and did the following:

Unzipped it under the RDS installation
Ran setup.cmd
Ran buildall.cmd
Typed "ExplorerSim" at a DSS command prompt.

It worked fine.

The error message you are getting suggests to me that you have not run setup.cmd which runs DssProjectMigration.

One other thing to check -- In the Project Properties make sure that the Target Framework is .NET 3.5. Sometimes VS2010 likes to mess with this during conversion even though it is specified in the project.
